Bamboo Is Changing The Way We Sleep

by Bedding Ever After on October 29, 2021

It's what's between the threads that counts.

Bamboo is one of the most sustainable textile materials of the 21st century. The fibre yield per acre from bamboo is up to 10 times higher than cotton and requires less than 1/10 of the water to grow. It is fabricated with high eco-standards, using a closed-loop system that recycles and reuses water to minimise waste.

Environmental impact isn't the only benefit if bamboo threads.

Bamboo sheets have been increasing in popularity in recent years – and for good reason. They are sustainable, softer than cotton and linen, naturally antimicrobial, and moisture absorbing. They also keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

 Hypoallergenic

The nature of bamboo fiber means that it helps ensure you are warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Bamboo clothing also has excellent wicking properties, making it ideal for warm summer days.

 Absorbs Moisture

A cross-section of bamboo fiber reveals various micro-holes, allowing bamboo cloth to have superior absorption. This allows bamboo cloth to absorb and evaporate human sweat rapidly. Bamboo fiber is four times more absorbent than cotton. The porous qualities of bamboo fiber account for it’s breathability; clothing made of bamboo resists clinging during hot weather or exercise.

Antibacterial

Bamboo fabric contains a naturally occurring antimicrobial agent, kun, that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it, which means it helps keep you odor free.
